Guerilla Gardening

Our next door neighbour has been in their property for about 3 years and not touched the garden. Unfortunately they way our properties are organised means hour house looks out over his garden. I think it used to be a veg patch because it's good quality dark soft soil with a scattering of weeds.

The other day I bought several packets of wild flower seeds off of eBay and scattered them over his garden. Concentrating on the areas in front of our windows. Hopefully we'll get a much improved view in the summer and the bees will benefit too.

Bad? Maybe. Illegal? Probably.

What I didn't realise was that this is termed as "Guerilla Gardening" so now I feel less like a criminal! If he's not careful, I'll prune his roses next!

Could you try asking if you could rent it (for a small amount)? Or failing that, dig a tunnel under the fence, wait until he's out and plant some potatoes or something.

 

One problem - you've planted wildflower seed in a garden that gets no maintenance. One thing about "wildflowers" is that they can soon become wild weeds if left to self seed everywhere!

When guerilla gardening started about brrrrrrrrr so many years ago , they used something called a Bio-grenade. This was a ball of wet compost with wild flower seeds mixed in . Thrown into various locations and there you go .
Unfortunately it does not seem possible to Google how to make a bio grenade , as all you get is anti zombie or mutant weapons for gamers

it wouldn't be a bad idea though to ask if you could make use of their garden as LinsayH said, no harm in asking...you never know they may be delighted to have someone whip it into shape
