Jetwash Patio cleaners ?

Fed up cleaning my patio with a jet wash lance . The flying saucer patio cleaner attachments, are they effective ?

The jet wash lance is very slow isn't it? Haven't tried the flying saucer so I would be interested to know how good they are.

When I borrowed a power washer on my patio it took out a lot of the cement beween my slabs

i find the flying saucer good, and quicker, and it doesnt splash water up your legs as much as the lance

 

Yes, much better. Quicker and cleans a larger area than the wand. I go over it afterwards with the wand using it as a broom to sweep off the crud. Definitely recommend.

 

Thanks all , well I have reserved a Nilfisk 1400w washer with patio kit . I'll see how it goes

 

My Karcher packed up after 18 months with very little use .. so did a friends of mine .. i hear the best available now are Nilfisk ... a neighbour of mine has one and is very pleased with it and the flying saucer patio cleaner which comes with some of the Nilfisk models Does work very well.. I used to have a Karcher 150psi which I got from new.That also blasted loose cement from in between patio slabs.If you held the nozzle close to the slab it would wear the slab away.Also if aimed at terracotta pots bits would also come off the rim.I had it about 3 years and only used it once a year for the slabs the it died!!

decided to buy a Wickes power washer and I think it is only about 100psi and half the size.Much better for cleaning patio and that also is 3 years old.You do need to get the lance that concentrates the water more than the standard lance that comes with washer ,not sure of the technical name.
never heard of the flying saucer attachment but will certainly look into that when this current one packs up.
I also found that I had to do a really good sweep up of dirt first as the water blows all the dirt up in your face if in a corner ,now I wear goggles.

 

Thanks Michael and Trogre , I have a JCB 2kw power washer now like you say the lance does a good job , you have to avoid your pointing though . It takes a long time to clean all the flags one at a time . Its also a bit heavy to cart up and down steps to get it to the back of the house . Well off to Screwfix now !

 

Well the Nilfisk was a great success , very compact and light . It has 3 nozzle types , a brush , foam applicator and a patio flying saucer cleaner. I used it to put the detergent all over the patio then cleaned the really dirty bits with the nozzles . The used the patio cleaner the handle for this could do with being a bit longer I am over 6 foot so an extension piece would be handy . All over very happy

 

Will certainly look at the washers with flying saucer attachments next time washer dies.
Just wondering though does the saucer sort of ride on a cushion of water like the flymo grass cutters do? I only ask as some of my slabs and not level with each other and wondering if the saucer would catch on an edge or glide over the raised slab.

Yes it Trogre the water pressure gives it the lift .. my frinds Nilfisk is 120 bar which is fairly powerful you could also add the detergent that cleans even better than just water alone ...
this is the one im going to buy below with all attachments .. While we are on the subject of Nilfisk .. my old Dad had a Nilfisk Vacuum cleaner for 20 odd years and it never ever went wrong and had huge suction .. in the end i threw it away when he sadly died.. Michael
