That is Teasel, a British native wild flower beloved for its seed .by Finches. However it can be a seed weed so best confined to the wild garden.

Yep, Palustris is spot on there, Teasel.
The flower heads are quite striking and much loved by bees too.

The seed is a real nuisance here, germinating freely over a year after I moved in. If you want to see Teasel, take a drive - it's everywhere! Don't allow this to thrive on your patch!

Thank you Palustris, Trunky and Longk,

Will keep for the birds and the bees, i'm wanting to keep as many wild flowers as i can :)
It's funny, for the last 10 years the wild flowers just keep coming :dbgrtmb:

If they get out of hand then i will have to controll them hopefully they will not

I've never managed to get these to grow for more than one year, never manages to re-seed itself which is a shame for I'd love to have a bed in my wilder part of my garden for the birds to enjoy.
By the way, at just 2foot high, it's a young 'un!

Mine grew to about seven foot last year!

I too didn't have a clue what they were until I asked on here :-)
