I never take any notice of the dates. I just go by the look and smell of most things. I still seem to be here. :)
What does happen to yoghurt once it goes off anyway???

I've got a pot of pears (2004) preserved in apple wine (2000)!
Shall I go for it, or leave it a few more years! ? ! ? (home made of course).

        Cheers, Tony.

Hold it for a couple of more years mmmmmnnn

I can never understand these sell by, best before dates
Smoked bacon, or dry cure, the whole reason of dry cure bacon is you can take it on sea trips and eat it six months down the line
          It is called preserving

My favourite is a demi-john of grapes preserved in Polish spirit :-) on year three

If what you have looks good, smells good, and tastes good then it is probably GOOD

I'll re-phrase Jiffy and say Salmonella poisoning.
