Hello - very unsure in Powys

Hi - I'm Susanna. We've just moved to a place in Powys and the previous owners were obviously keen gardeners who have let the pace run a bit this year as they were selling the place.

I have no CLUE what is what, but the main garden looks lovely. There is a raspberry patch and a couple of gooseberry bushes. I am keen to grow vegetables so I need to site a vegetable plot but don't know about the soil or sunlight. I want to enlarge and develop the soft fruit garden and "sort out" the orchard and and and.......

Hi Susanna, welcome to the GC forum. Begin one task at a time, then get stuck into it. I'd say, build yourself a raised bed and dig in some well rotted compost... then start sowing some winter veg.
