Just finished off this dibber i turned from a bit of pine. It's a present for a friend of mine.

Would have looked better if I had a bit of oak thick enough but I doubt it will get used.

(I hoping she knows what it is as well :heehee:)

To while away an abysmal New Year's day, I finished this. I thought of Harvest mice enjoying a sheaf of golden corn such as this. It's a prototype using up some spare Arran yarn but it was obviously too speckled and it's difficult to make out the wheat ears. I made the grains using a "bullion" stitch which I think was more suitable than the technique that the pattern quoted.
I will get some plain, soft, light cream plain Arran and do it again

Well I finished what I was knitting just before Christmas. I've been delaying putting the pics up because I'm not entirely happy with it. The yarn was a lot 'busier' than expected and it also knitted up in stripes which I didn't realise and could have done without. It was a 'King Cole' yarn and a nightmare, joins in the balls that didn't follow on with either the same dye shade or pattern so I had to keep breaking off and rejoining elsewhere to get the stripes to knit up right. There were also partly broken threads in the balls too. I will be having a word when I go back to the shop!

The neckline is a collar but I found it was better upright to create a slightly cowl neck. Anyway, I have to say it looks better on than off. I might use the pattern again but with a plain yarn. :)

                            Sheal,
that's a jumper you can justly feel proud of. It's unique and it has knitted up beautifully. If you can email the yarn producer - re. the breaks in the yarn, they may send you a credit note for future purchases but, I now realise the probs that one has with using a multi coloured random yarn when the inevitable join for a new ball occurs.
But I bet none of us would notice the joins anywhere - I certainly wouldn't. Its lovely...:wub2:
With jeans or leggings and boots? Any maybe a single colour row of chunky beads?
                            Or too OTT for you?
                            Jenny
