With a busy second half to the year, dealing with the aftermath of the fire in the garden and a house renovation, we have only just sorted out photos from our new pond. I wasnt sure whether to include this in this section, but as i mostly post in here i thought it was probably for the best (i wont be offended if its moved somewhere else :heehee:)

The pond itself is just over 8,000 gallons (about 37,000l), and is heavily filtered. As the older members will know we did nearly all the work ourselves, only getting the experts in to fibre glass the pond and to sort out the electrics for us.

I think we worked out we dug out something in the order or 40tonnes of clay and chalk eek!

Anyway hope you all enjoy it, and if you want even more photos check out our blog - http://www.alternativeeden.com/2014/01/the-big-koi-pond-reveal.html

That's awe inspiring! You and your partner have quite an eye for design. Is the pictures of the garden post fire?

These photos were before the fire, however the pond area escaped any real damage, a couple of plants were damaged by the firemen rather than fire, so in that respect we were lucky.

The area damaged by the fire has had the hard landscaping repaired - fences, summerhouse etc have been replaced. More plants than we had expected survived the fire, and we will be replanting that area in the spring.

Thought for a second that the seats were in the pond, till I worked out it was a reflection

Fabulous. Stunning, actually. I particularly like the underwater view whilst relaxing in a chair.

Your fish are lovely :) and your cats ,im thinking in case of any severe winds consider putting some trellis aong the left hand side in case you have to go skinny dipping for the roof tiles next to it :) x
