I have sold quite a few on ebay. Ranging from shrubs to small perennial plants. I used to send them tracked but quickly worked out that Royal Mail and Paypal were taking almost all the money I was making.

No when I sell plants I only do cash on collection. I've developed quite a few regulars as a result who keep coming back, I get cash in hand and I know that the plant left me in one piece.

Gumtree is also another website to sell onto. I sold 18 salvias on there last year, but the website is a bit funny about selling plants on their site as they are a sister site of ebay.

Just out of curiosity what tress are you thinking of selling?

I've sold on ebay too but not recently, as a few have said for the time involved its often not worth the effort, I too have done several swaps this year with members on here ;) which I'm more than happy with :hapydancsmil:, I have sold my plants (daylilies) in lots of five which makes it more worthwhile, daylilies do travel very well bareroot though and don't weigh much once the roots are washed, the new package size regulations did put a spanner in the works for a lot of sellers as they won't often fit in the small box size with their huge roots but before Christmas the sizes where altered so I may sell a few more in spring to fund my habit :heehee:, luckily I've had no dodgy buyers and only positive feedback.

There must be a business opportunity for a plant "exchange" web site. Loads exist, none of them making any headway (that I know of)

I sold "collect only" chilli plants a couple of years ago - they were already in 1.5 litre pots so there was no way I could post them (although some people messaged and asked if I could). Didnt get too many bids - but they did sell - and a couple of people come back to buy every year privately.
