Wow Sheal, a right labour of love coming up then. It will be so interesting reading about your progress with this pattern. Of course, online, you will find a great choice of yarns. - hope you can find what you want,
and I wish you the best of luck,
    Jenny

      Thats lovely Sheal :dbgrtmb:
I'm just having my first experience with circular needles, thought I'd start small and knit a ragdoll for a young niece, from a new book I bought, but :gaah:its driving me mad already and I've only done one leg :hate-shocked:.

        Thanks Jenny and Simbad. :)

The shop I visited today turned out to be as I said, hopeless. I've been checking out Aran yarn online and that's not easy either, acrylic Aran doesn't have a great colour choice. I've narrowed it down to two sites and I'll make my decision tomorrow.

Hang in there Simbad, you'll get there! What is it about circular needles!

Sheal I do not know if the island has one, but Lidl do acrylic Aran, in four or five shades from Cream to sort of smokey white, beige, and fawn etc Also cheap as chips (for Aran)

Thanks Jack, but no we don't have anything like that here. I bought it online and it was a swift delivery considering it had to come across the water via the post office.....just two days. :)

We only have three major shop chains here. Marks and Spencer, Tesco and B&Q and just one of each shop.

In a few weeks I will be meeting this lovely Nepalese couple for the first time. They were married a couple of years ago but unfortunately I was unable to go to their wedding.

Well I've gone pom pom crazy lol, after seeing Kirsty Allsop using that ingenious little device had to get one (well 3 really ), I spotted the snowball wreath and thought I'd have a go quite pleased with the result not decided on ribbon colour yet, I know its not christmas but I'm prepared lol, I might add some tiny baubles at christmas haven't decided yet.

I'm now making one with red green and cream pom poms for my daughter and next on the agenda's a rug for elder daughter room, one of those things you can sit and do without too much concentration.
I found this site really the things you can do with pom poms http://decorationdigest.com/en/2013/01/03/colorful-artistic-ideas-pompoms-myk/

I bought mine from amazon Jenny, don't know why I put 3 I have 4 :dunno: they come in packs of two the extra small makes tiny little pom poms, I also have the yellow and pink further down the page they're slightly bigger, remember when Kirsties programme was on television just before Christmas I looked on ebay for them they were selling out while I was watching the screen!!! the sellers were trying some ridiculous prices so I looked on Amazon and found them much cheaper, here's the link.
