    Hi all,

I recently bought my 2 year old son a tropical fish tank.

After I've syphoned out some of the water, I squeeze the filter in the bucket to clean it out. I usually tip the water way down the drain, as it goes very cloudy with fish waste. But today I suddenly thought would this fish waste, be suitable for fertilising the garden.

I could pour the water around some of my garden shrubs. Has anyone any experience with this and do you think it might make a good fertiliser?

    Kind Regards

    Simon

I think would be good to go on the compost as its full of urine it should speed up the activity in the compost bin .

          Hi Spruce,

That's an even better Idea for using the fish poo, ill try it out.

Yeah, Thanks it is a pic I use on our site, but I've changed it for a pre photoshop version as it's a bit sales with the "hand crafted axes 5 year warranty" text on it.

          Kind regards

          Simon

I got him a 75 litre tank and have two Bolivian rams, 3 panda cory (best fish by far) 4 guppy's 3 sword tails, 2 pearl gourami's and a few others.

The Rams are good fun, but the whole set up is easy to maintain. You just have to keep it clean and enjoy it. My boy loves it. (and so do I haha)

Yes that's them! they are a cat fish.

This might sound a bit strange but they are like dog's they have a very playful personality.

By far the most entertaining fish I have ever seen.

Awesome I bet a 25% water change on that take a while. My lad loves it, he's only two but every day he can't wait to feed his fish.

Panda cories are my favourite tropical fish, I have about 12 of them!! :)

Aquarium water is good for your plants it is full of nitrogen,

I do 10% every other day, as Discus have to have a water temperature of about 84 degrees.
I have about 30 Bleeding Heart Tetras, 10 Rummynose Tetras, 10 Cardinal Tetras, assorted corys, 1 Goldseam plec, a trio of Peppermint plecs and 3 whiptails.
