Just saw 2 jack russells in a car with the windows done up, I was sweating in my car even with the window open so I walked into the restaurant next to the car park to find the owners.

Found them straight away and they quickly came and got the dogs out, saying it had been chucking it down when they arrived (which it probably had been)

Just as I was driving away I heard the owner say to one of them, "Marley, get down."

Wonder if the other one was called Farley? :snork:

Well done @Zigs :blue thumb: - there was a similar thing near my work a few years back, a dog stuck in the back seat of a car in 25º heat; thankfully, it was a copper mate of mine who spotted it and he didn't even consider looking for the owners - bashed the window in with his attitude adjuster opened the door and got the dog out first, then worried about the car and owners second.

He did tell me that the likelihood of someone being done with anything like criminal damage if they were to do the same, was very slim indeed - as long as they rang the police and waited for them to arrive to take care of the car & dog of course.

It's criminal, no thought for the poor animal. We don't leave Bailey in the car unless there isn't an alternative. For a few pounds each we bought 3 plastic concertina things that fit onto the glass so that when wound up it wedges between glass and door, he also has water in a bowl on

the floor images.jpg . It gives plenty of ventilation and the car is secure but it is only used when there isn't another way.

                Well done Zigs!
I am sick and tired of going to find owners of dogs ( and a baby once) locked in cars on a hot day. I have been shouted at a few times when I have found them but usually it is that someone didn't expect to be gone so long and got held up. I have now decided to take the number of the next car where the owner gets nasty and report them.

I guessed they must have been in the restaurant, otherwise they'd be walking the dogs on the beach like everyone else was.

I just went in and "moderated" them :snork:

A couple of years ago a police dog handler left two dogs in this van on a very hot day, they both died.
He got off, said he was under stress at the time, typical.

Even if it was a downpour when they left the dogs, common sense should dictate that if you are going into a restaurant, you aren't popping in for a minute or two!
Really? That they would leave their dogs in a confined space without fresh air for any length of time defeats my thinking :noidea:

                        Good catch, Zigster

Well done Zigs! :dbgrtmb: Don't people ever learn! A couple of years ago I spotted a dog panting heavily in a car with all windows shut in Tesco's car park. I went straight to customer services with the registration number and they called the owner over the tannoy system. Even without the sun shining cars heat up very quickly.
