    Grubbed up the first of our Sprinters this afternoon. Very nice too with boiled ham and a touch of mint sauce.

          Best bet is to grub about and see how big they are. Some folk advocate waiting until flowering or until foliage starts to collapse.

            our marfonas are just starting to flower but the pentland javlins arnt yet so ill leave them a god while yet

            I think it best to start harvesting Earlies just before they flower, or as they flower, rather than waiting for them to put on maximum weight - depends if you have enough plants though. No sense paying for, inferior flavour, spuds from the Supermarket when you could be eating your own home grown ones, albeit at slightly reduced yield [by harvesting early].

            Main crop need to stay-the-course to get max yield, but I don't take that view for Earlies.

              Started our Rocket this weekend, it looks like we could have harvested a week or so earlier as they are getting pretty big. Taste has been excellent, this is one root:
