    I have no idea what it is?!?!?

    I 'discovered' it the other day, as it has been languishing behind a lavatera that had become vast, and in only a couple of days in the sun it is perking up already - but what is it?

      Sorry, I don't think it's Hibiscus, the leaves aren't quite right and the stems look too spindly to me.

      Maybe it looks like this because it was smothered by the vast Lavatera...which has been removed.

      F.C.....A good close up of a leaf would really help.

        It does look to have rather thin wood (maybe a result of being shaded by the Lavatera) and smallish leaves so what about another member of the Malvaceae family - Abutilon.

          Hibiscus rings a bell, but not abutilon - I will try and get a picture of the leaves later
