......such as the Gardener's Delight Jenny, which I find are a little too sweet for my taste, although Mrs Trunky loves them.

Just a matter of personal preference really.

Well, we are having a pretty good growing season so far and at the moment we have temporarily turned ourselves into vegetarians just to keep up with the avalanche of vegetables that require harvesting and dealing with, even with the help of our neighbours. Today, in addition to the normal runner beans, French beans, courgettes ..., we also have:
      image.jpg
Some of the shallots have died down so I got them out. I don't know why lots of them are as big as normal onions, but hopefully they will keep just as well.
I'm not sure how long sweetcorns can be kept as they are so I took the corns off the cobs and froze them. Tedious job but necessary since there are more to come.

These are from our greenhouse. The big tomato is about 540 grams, probably the biggest one I've ever grown. The big pepper is Big Banana. It is the first time I've grown it and I'm pleased with the result as the plants are laden with big fruits.:)

        Thanks Jenny, Sheal and Lolimac.

Good question! We grow Golden Nugget every year and they are very sweet. However, those in the colander are second generation self-seeded offspring (they're in a different greenhouse to my genuine Golden Nuggets) and are a bit sharp:sad:. However we've used them to make delicious tomato sauces so I'm bottling the surplus to use through the winter:).

I've had great fun with my new greenhouse this year, loads of tomatoes (seeds mostly from you guys), chilli's and cucumbers. Never believed i could grow all that. Here's a pick of one day's harvest, including a few runner beans. DSC_0315.JPG . I'm still continuing to pick as gardeners delight is only just starting to ripen now a long with the and the cucumbers and chilli's (chilli's seeds i grew from from fresh chilli's brought home from Italy last year). It really is great, need to try some different chilli's, tomatoes and perhaps gherkins next year. I have grown in grow bags with the pots on top and i am amazed at what i have managed to grow. :hapydancsmil: Looking forward to next year already. I've amazed my myself!

Well done Pixie! They look good to me and it's great when growing is so successful. Enjoy your crop now but it won't be long before you're picking up seeds for next years season. :)

Cleared one of the cold frames out today, sieved all the soil in it and planted up some Mizuna. Sowed some spring onions and Land Cress in it, got to think about winter crops now

Also put some early peas onto soak, might stand a chance of getting a crop before the frost :)
