A short walk around part of Arne this afternoon.
Managed to catch a Raven at the top of a dead Pine so high up it is just a silhouette but it is black anyway.

Had a BEAUT-I-FUL Jay in perfect plumage on my garden bird bath yesterday, camera inside, conservatory door open and as soon as I moved to back away to go get camera, flit, off he went! A rare visitor for my back garden!

Remember being disapointed at school when I found out the real size of Kingfishers, I was expecting something the size of a fish eagle with a name like that

True, Ziggy, but that Electric Blue flashing past seems to light up the day and not even a Fish Eagle can compete with that!!:hapydancsmil::snork:

On several occasions when I've been fishing on a relatively small stream, I've stopped to watch them rather than risk disturbing one on the opposite bank. I used to be fortunate enough to work in an office not far from a stream with resident Kingfishers, but was distraught to see one dead in the road over the bridge as they're prone to going over the top and getting hit by vehicles.

You're right Loli, they are daring. The wheelbarrow was right beside the bed and he kept hopping down into it to see what he could pick over. :)

We have a magpie that enjoys the bathroom windowsill of one of the houses behind us. Other then that we just get seagulls.
