Red looks good too, turn the highlights down a tad and its Bob on. Either the red or blue works for me, the blue is more contrasty which is nice.

I'm sorry Capney, I'm not one to alter photo's at all, but a comment on the sky if I may. You say you've replaced the sky from grey to what the photo has now, quite heavy. To my mind both skies would mean there's no sun (and I would say there is none in the picture) so where there's no sun there should be no shadows or light areas on the fields?

Yes, the blue filter has made a big difference. :) It's lifted what would be a blue sky and made the whole scene less gloomy.

Captured the animal's expression so well. Made me feel a bit sad,
              looks like a prisoner,

Hi folks, thanks for looking. Jenny, the outdoor area was closed for repair that day and they were all kept in. That was the only sunlight coming in. I agree it is a sad pic and I took others of the same gorrilla in different poses in the same sunbeam, just as sad.

Every picture tells a story. To me this says "I am a stressed captive monkey" Thats good. It makes a statement. There are some technical issues which at the time I,m sure you could nothing about. Yes. Good.

I agree Jen , upsetting to see as it looks out at the day light and freedom ... but a very good photo which makes for a thought provoking moment

Amazing captures @pip and the fact they are black and white just adds to the atmosphere of the shots.
I actually thought it was a chimp

Hello there"M", the decision to shoot in monochrome was made whilst inside the indoor enclosure, I, like yourself, felt it was the perfect way to capture the images.

I can see why you thought it was a chimp, I think the age of the gorilla is about 2 years old.
