Hoping to grow Delphiniums

    I'm going to buy three plug plants and then expand next year if successful. Makes sense to start small!

      Hi Gwen

      They dont come true from seeds so it wont have a individual name , like the ones on the link I posted , yours will all be unique and that's how new varieties come about and then you have to take cuttings in the spring to bulk the variety up ,you could do the same if one really stands out and you want more of the same one

        I germinated mine under the stairs in the dark.
        I didn't get a very high rate of germination either (about 40%) ...they are a bit tricky IMO. But worth it!

          Oh gosh Spruce now I'm even more intrigued. Are the cuttings easy to propagate? They now need to germinate for me. Should I feed them. Everything else in the gh is on blood, fish and bone. They are potted in seed compost with vermiculite and would expect to pot up a size with some top soil. That's when the feed comes into play.
