    someone asked me if my grape vine was an eating grap or make wine, I have no idea :noidea:

    No way to tell from a pic.
    Wait till grapes are ripe and try them.
    If you like them it will be an eating variety.
    If horrid and sour...then use for wine.

      I agree but it wont be ready for 3 - 4 weeks if growing outside
      we just haven't had the weather really. It looks like it could be either
      Optima or Pinot blanc, if very sweet and you wish to make wine halve the amount
      of sugar or chances are it wont stop fermenting for ages.

        Personally i dont think there is anything we can grow outside in the UK that I would describe as a dessert grape.
        I know they do say we can grow eaters outside.
        But never came across anything similar to a grape you would buy in a supermarket.

        Even wine grapes are pretty sweet once fully ripe, (october), but often small, with lots of seeds.
