    Hi
I'm a total newbie to gardening, and seem to have inherited the lawn from hell. I posted in the lawns section, but thought I'd better do an introduction too.

My garden is south facing, with a bit of a slope and the soil is basically clay as far as I can tell. The previous owners weren't gardeners, other than one bush near the house it was just grass and weeds when we moved in and the weeds have taken over except in the bald spots.

I'd love a reasonable, hard wearing lawn and a bit of colour, but I think one or two raised beds would sort that bit out. the lawn is gonna be a big job I expect.
