By "destroy the area" you mean leave litter? [IMG] We have a litter service that would take care of that. They have to go/be somewhere. It's not as if they are deliberately choosing to be litter louts. Have you tried putting yourself in their situation....at all? Their plight is truly deploring and desperate!

Is this the scenario you are depicting? (The link below) The rocks were aimed at the police not the locals.

I have no doubt about the disruptive effect this must be having on local people. That is a no brainer. It is a crisis situation!! Go figure!!

        I'm on my hobby horse now! :wallbanging:, a week or so ago there was a refugee donation list, hubby & I thought we would like to donate something ( we don't agree in all these people coming here due the financial drain it would be in our country & the fact that all our services are in their knees, I'm a very kind & generous person to a point) anyway to the point we read the suggested donations list;
        Tent....ok
        Bag...ok
        Tinned food with pull tops...ok
MOBILE PHONE????? Mobile flipping phone! :wallbanging: Since when is a mobile phone an item which is needed by someone who's a refugee? I can't tell you how flipping mad this made me!!
yes help someone In need but there's a limit.
lets look at the bigger picture, there's no room, we have no spare housing, the NHS is On its knees, we have no more benefits, the pension system is a total balls up, the schools are splitting at the seams....do I need to go on?' We need to look after our own FIRST.
as for the way some of these people behave it's a disgrace, why do we want them here?

It's only a crisis because of the idiotic actions of Germany saying " come on in, come on in ".
If they had have been more sensible in the first place and taken legitimate refugees from refugee camps ( as we are doing ) with specially laid on means of transportation and not encouraged more to come then perhaps the situation now would be totally different.

I think you may need to get up to speed as to what is allowed for and still be regarded as poverty. Here in UK ...
Overall, the typical person in modern poverty has access to a mobile phone and lives in a household with a television, an inside lavatory, electricity and probably access to the internet.
Yes, of course, there are numerous worthy causes to donate to. It's a question of where your sympathies lie and you have clearly expressed them here.

Councils have a duty to dispose of litter. It's not as if the refugees are staying in any one area for very long is it? I do feel this is focusing on such a petty aspect of what is, after all, an overwhelmingly urgent crisis affecting thousands upon thousands of innocent people fleeing for their lives. The word - perspective - feels very apt here.

Oh Beckie, did you have to........ lol

They've git better mobile phones than I'll ever be able to afford, some of them have tablets, not the medicinal variety either, nice new shiney trainers, football shirts from the likes of teams that our kids can only dream of ever owning.

And what about those youngsters that are only ( and I really do mean the next five words ) sneaking in the back door just to use our education facilities and universities.

I totally agree, but before Angela Merkel opened her mouth it was being kept at a reasonable level it has now literally exploded.

@Anthony Rogers yes you do have to literally LOL! :heehee:

                  Another :goodpost: @Anthony Rogers.

@rosebay i do have sympathy for all those people, but we CANNOT afford in this country to take them all on my dear. As for the council yes they do have a duty to dispose of rubbish....BUT rubbish in those quantities are going to take up resources both man power & money to clear & we DONT have the extra money to do that do we???
As for poverty....if you have no money & live on the bread line I'm afraid a mobile phone/smart phone /tablet etc are to me luxury items.....or do I just have my feet firmly on the ground?

Whilst I might agree with you about the poverty criteria...I did give a link (in a previous post of mine) regarding how poverty is currently assessed in UK and what is allowed within that margin. This is the modern criteria.

That said, the crisis situation is not primarily due to poverty but migration - most are fleeing for their lives from war.

The migrants need mobile phones in in order to access the internet.

That is the big difference between a true refugee of old, and this "well informed" bunch.

They all want to go to Germany, why, because they have seen the news reports.

Now that 'jumped up' little French bloke is making noises about making all EC countries take their share of a rampage mainly started by Germany.

As France and Germany actually run the EC between them, and everyone else is expected to tow the line, I can only assume that both of those fairly large countries should do the right thing and take the whole lot and show us all the way.

I've just been doing a bit of research on the tinterwebby thing and these are some of the facts that pop up time after time.........

List of countries where immigrants gave been arriving in Europe from....

Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Algeria, Sudan, Mali, Eritrea, D. R. Congo, Somalia, Nigeria, Gambia, Morocco, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka

                    This is a direct quote........

" Migrants from the Western Balkans and parts of Western/Central Africa and Southern Asia are more than likely to be ECONOMIC MIGRANTS. MANY OF THEM HOPING FOR A BETTER LIFESTYLE AND THE OFFER OF JOBS WITHOUT ANY VALID CLAIM TO REFUGEE STATUS...

So, Rosebay, as regards to " fleeing for their lives from war ", can you tell me please when the war started in places such as Morocco, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Pakistan, India etc etc. I must have missed that in the news.

Also, at the last count done..... 72 % of all migrants / refugees were adult men.
This raises a couple of points for me...

                    1) If it's not safe for men to live then how is it safe for women, they're the ones who are tortured and raped etc.

                    2) How could any man leave his wife/children/family in a situation such as that and still have a conscience.
