    Hi everyone,

To my surprise, this morning, when I when to water my allotment, I discovered that something/several things, had devoured all of our greens:mad::mad:, (I wish I could get the kids to finish them of so readily!!!!).

They had eating all the leaves down to the leaf stalk!!!! We can see the saw shaped teeth marks all along the edges.

Any idea what may be the culprit?????:scratch: And as they have eaten all of the leaves, leaving the main stem and leaf stalks, are the likely to survive???

last evening I was out until dark in to pooring rain buildng a varmit proof enclosure.

I could feel I was being watched from the trees that surround the allotments.

Love to know what you think may have feasted on the plants we had only transplanted this week!!!!!!!!!!!.......some only yesterday.

    Many thanks

    Steve

Pigeons or rabbits. If you leave the stocks they will regrow to some extent and you should get something usable from them but there won't be as much growth as there was originally. I would replant for a succession sowing.

I'm also going with rabbits, they'll strip your greens given an invitation! (An invitation is basically a gap in the fence in any semi rural area).
I'd also plant succesively, and check that fencing. Hopefully your netting will keep them away. I'm not a big salad greens grower (I'm very urban) but I imagine you're more rural.... I wish you luck. It's awful when something eats your hard work. :(
