    Hello all,

I have no nothing about pruning and wondered if my acer tree needed a winter cut, i did read that most could be left to grow natural and would only need the crossing branches doing, don't really understand what crossing branches are!

I will post pics of my two acers and if you could advice or even mark the pics with which branches i need to prune would be great.

I would remove all of the lower branches and then judge the remainder :)

Crossing branches are those that overlap another one and those branches will eventually rub together creating damage. Think of it like crossing your fingers. :)
