Duckweed is OK if your pond is small enough to easily remove it and if you don't mind removing some almost daily as it grows at an astonishing...
I did a similar project last year and my small wildlife pond has no pump or filter and has remained crystal clear all the time :)As Armandii...
See so many very large mature palms in front gardens round here that I'm guessing they were part of the original landscaping when the houses were...

I grew glauca from seed a couple of years ago, got to impressive sturdy 5ft plants in large pots and nice yellow flowers. Lost them in the winter...
Bought a few shrubs myself this weekend, Sambucus Sutherland gold, Diervilla, a purple leaved Weigela and a Mahonia :)
No lower than 10 degrees here last night and still 14 now after a lovely day and a high of 19 :)
No damage done here and thin cloud cover that has now drifted in after a gorgeous sunny day should ensure temps stay well above freezing tonight,...
Personally I will still be waiting until the end of this month/early June :)

Lowest it got here was 1 degree which is the current temp, a bit of ice on the car roof but no visible frost on the ground which I hope is a good...
Nearly 10pm and still 8 degrees, fingers crossed it don't plummet, I suspect it will be near dawn when it will be at its lowest !
I grew one that had the same flower as that called brasiliensis, it produced abundant seed :)
I'm in Derbyshire and we'be got a 50\50 chance of frost tonight, taking no chances, spuds have been earthed and fleeced, other tender stuff...
