    Cheers for replies all. I shall extend the cane and see what happens. It is pretty rigid at the top but I can bend it to secure to a taller cane....

    I planted this Amelanchier last September. When it was delivered I stupidly put it in the shed for a day or so which bent the top of the trunk...
