Yep! I've already planned my trip to Wickes this morning and cleared room in the boot for the compost.

They seem keen on getting punters in as I received the offer last night at 7.14 and again this morning at 8.48 :rolleyespink:

Wickes are also giving out vouchers for 10% off WYS £30 min valid 21-23/4/17.

My local store had a pallet of 50L Westland MPC with added John Innes marked as clearance, reduced to £2.99, plus buy 2 get 1 free, only £1.69 (3.4p/L) after 15% off, best price elsewhere is around £4.

@shiney Do you use Wickes MPC for seeds? I've bought enough to fill my potato buckets as I always use Gro Sure Seed & Potting Compost which is nice and fine for small seeds Westland Gro-sure Seed & Cutting Compost 30 L | Wickes.co.uk

EDIT: Just realised that 120L of seed compost might be too much for some people.

@Scrungee We use it for everything :noidea:. Seeds that can be propagated in our sprouters are grown on damp kitchen paper first and then straight into MPC. Everything else we use MPC. It says it's OK for seeds - unlike the rubbish they brought out the other year that didn't say it can be used for seeds.

Whether it's better or worse than anything else, we don't know.

We've used 1,400 litres of it so far and expect to buy another 560 this weekend.

Bought another 4 x 70L bags of MPC today.

Worked out why they'd marked it down as 'reduced to clear'. It was older stock in 'buy 2 get 1 free' bags and the current offer is a less favourable buy 3 get 1 free, so they reduced the cheaper stuff even further to get rid of it!

And me! :dbgrtmb: I happened to be passing

They're very good and I just go to the desk, tell them what I want and they get it and put it in my car. :blue thumb: :old: Good customer service. :)

I called in this aft and bought 4 bags of Jack's Magic Compost ( each bag was strangely heavy when compared to the Westland with JI ) and a slimline 100L Water Butt to go inside my new Greenhouse, all in all I saved £13.12.

My local store removes the plastic wrapping from around the pallets of bags, then leaves them standing around in the open yard until they're sodden and only then do they move them into the front foyer.

Ours doesn't move them into the foyer at all  but I get the man who is loading my car for me to take the top three bags off and give me the ones below that. It hasn't mattered at all this time as we haven't had any rain for nearly two months.

Daughter is off working this morning with a list of stuff to get from Wickes which is close to where she works. Just hope she can get 8 x 70l bags of compost into her car plus the other bits and pieces I want! I do have loads of leaf mould and compost ready for use and did use it to sow Carrots and Onions but it was really pretty weedy and I had to take a fair while separating the "Wheat from the Chaff" so going to treat myself for the next batch of sowing. Thanks for the heads up @Scrungee, with the offer and 15% off until tonight plus hearing it's good stuff I am happy to "treat" myself:)
