1973 I was a 16y/o with a love of rock music, Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, then came Tubular Bells!!!! I was in heaven and still got the vinyl originals.

Yes, I did like girls and dated a bit, but music was my love........

5 years later I met someone I went on to marry, I loved her and still do although we've been divorced over 30 years (we loved each other but couldn't live together).

I need to get a vinyl record player 'cos "Tubular Bells II" just ain't the same!

Fairly huge dose of nostalgia today?

I find nostalgia isn’t what it used to be
Tubular Bells, still one of my favourite albums, after all this time. Like a lot of folks, I ditched the vinyl format in favour of digital. I did though hang on to my old turntable (Rega Planar 3) and vinyl albums. So glad I did. A couple of years ago my old Rega was used as a base for my new turntable. There’s a company called ‘Inspire’ that do this. I now buy vinyls again, the latest being ‘Division Bell’. I have maybe 400 vinyl albums, nowhere near what some have, but enough to keep me amused :)

Tubular Bells, and lots of other such stuff only sounded OK at the time because you were probably stoned.

      Move on.

Tubular Bells is quite popular amongst a much younger generation.

I’m not sure if that’s helping  But yes, it makes a point. For me, a good recording/record/composition (w/e) will always be good. Of course, not everyone will like Tubular Bells, but for me, it was a landmark album. It received huge critical acclaim, and sold quite well
