Interesting to note that my Parsnips this year have (at this stage) very little Canker damage:blue thumb:

                    Hiya Freddy...

Personally i don't like growing in containers rarely have much success with them but i've only a small patch and to do the crop rotation thing this year my Snips, carrots and Potatos have been in pots....Spuds were OK but not a very good crop, carrots fine if you like faffing with baby carrots so i'm not holding out for a bumper crop of snips but i'll make them go as far as i can:dbgrtmb:

                      Hiya Loli.

I have serious doubts about root crops grown in containers, but I'm happy to be proved wrong:blue thumb: Of course, rotation is the ideal, but from a personal point of view, I won't be held hostage to it;)

I think you're absolutely right Freddy:dbgrtmb:....knowing it was a dodgey move i faffed with the soil to try make sure my snips didn't have ten legs ....and in my case i never water containers properly:doh: and the dry summer we've had i reckon they'll only be enough to go on my plate for crimbo...well i grew them..it's only fair....i think i'll stop fretting about this crop rotation business...ofcourse i'll be sensible but i think if you keep the ground in good order you still stand a better chance of a decent crop more so than containers...:dbgrtmb:

@Freddy ...I've had a furtle and do you know i'm pleasantly suprised:blue thumb:...OK so it's forked but there's still a bit of meat on it...i'd preferre big /none forked snips naturally but considering i wasn't holding out much hope being in containers i'm happy with a few more like that :dbgrtmb:
