    Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I was wondering if any of you would recommend a book I can get that would help me for reference, in terms of my new allotment and veg growing?

    Many thanks :help::o:love30:

    Blimey, thats a good one.

    John Seymoors guide to self sufficiency, thats got everything in it.

    Dave Hessayons veg expert book, most garden centres stock that.

    Laurence D Hills, think his one is about organic gardening.

    Brian Furner- can't remember the name of his, think I gave it to Chopper.

    If you only get one then get Dr. Hessayons veg expert book (and if you buy more than one book get that one first!). The layout is wonderfully clear and concise, and its the first one I turn to when I want to know "When to sow" or "What spacing" type questions. Good illustrations of the various Pests and Diseases too.

    John Harrison's books are good all-rounder Veg books. If you order direct from him I think you get a signed copy and some free seeds - so might be a zero-cost purchase, so-to-speak

    Vegetable Growing, Allotment, Cookery, Low Cost Living Books by John + Val Harrison

    The more in-depth book that I use, and see mentioned around the forums, is Joy Larcom.s "Grow your own Vegetables"

    You can`t go wrong with John Harrisons` books. I have The Complete Food Garden by John Seymour which is also very good.:dbgrtmb:
