Please help me identify this flower bush that I have seen in somebody's garden...The bush is about 9 ft, the foliage as well as as the flower are extremely pleasant.

The flowers are very big (like a handful) variegated pink and white. The shape of it resembles an English rose ("button" shape...? And a lot of petals) but the petals are very juicy like for example a magnolia.

The leaves are in groups of five. They look soft, they are in parallel position on the stem and the fifth one is at the end of the stem and it is a bit indented here and there. That's all the description so far....:dunno:

it is in flower now and it lasted at least a couple of weeks. It is growing in the Romford area, quite sheltered by a brick wall...
PS it resembles a peony but most pictures that I found online of the peony show a very open flower compaired to this one that is more a "wine glass shape" if you know what I mean. How would one reproduce this sort of flower you guess?

Maybe easiest if we eliminate Camellia.
    Size and flower shape/colour fit.
However leaves are shiny and evergreen.

You seem to be describing a deciduous shrub.

Variegated...do you mean shades of pink and white?

    Can Azalea be eliminated?

Is it button shaped or wine glass shaped...confused.
Did you check double flowering Peony?

judging by all the suggestions and considering the pictures of flowers/leaves it is likely to be a double flower peonia! the colour and leaves are like this: p.JPG
but the shape, which is really what caught my eye, is like this one:

The funny thing is that I am not really a fan of variegated flowers but this one is absolutely splendid!!! Thank you for the suggestions.
