    just to clarify:

Courgettes are the baby fruit of several types of marrow, harvested when they are 14 x 4 cm long, the size of a cigar.

Zucchinis are the fruits of the same plant harvested when they are 15 to 20 cm long.

Marrows are the semi-mature fruits which have reached full size.

Thanks for that - I was always under the impression that they were related, but didn't realise they were one and the same at different sizes :)

Sorry, Miraflores, I have to disagree. Courgettes and zucchini are exactly the same thing, depending on where in the world you come from, eg British and French say courgette, American and Italian say zucchini. I too have seen the website which mentions the size issue, but really - what's in a centimetre or five? Courgettes at the (British) supermarket (never zucchini) come in sizes up to 20cm. Though I do agree that when they reach full size they are all marrows!

            I asked for that!

What I meant was that I can't even think of one recipe for marrow, let alone enough to use up one that size!
