    Hi

I'm posting this on behalf of my Dad. He moved into a new house a couple of years ago and last year the Acer in the garden was fantastic. It's struggling this year and he's concerned that it may be dying. I was wondering if anyone could give us some advice about how to help it?

We're in the north east of England and we have had some severe frosts at the end of April. I don't know exactly what type of Acer it is I'm afraid.

    Many thanks.
    Emma

Looks like frost and cold wind may have affected the Acer. I have similar on some of my Acers. The far too hot April did many shrubs no favours as it persuaded them to start into growth too early only to be knocked back when the very cold spell hit. As far as I know there isn't anything you can really do to help the situation.
The tree may not put on a great show this season but should recover next season.....the joys of gardening.
