When I turned on my laptop today there was a message saying thankyou for using adobe flash.
It went on to say that soon it will be unsupported and they recommend I uninstall it.

    Question?
    Dont we need it anymore?

Depends on the application/s you have that are currently using it ?

As you can see from these links, its a notorious program for bugs and hackers, so best not to use it, however not really sure how you can tell when its being used, generally when using a browser ? though think most browsers now automatically suppress it ?

Is it Finally the End of Adobe Flash Player?

Why Adobe Flash is a Security Risk and Why Media Companies Still Use it

Just looking to uninstall, it appears I only installed it on the 14th of Oct 2020.
Cant remember doing it, in fact I didn't, but I think I probably have had it on my laptop for as long as I've had it.

I've also got something called adobe shockwave player.:smile:

Think its probably where you have looked at some video or loaded another App ( as they now seem to call all programs) and it automatically loaded in either of those programs or even asked you for a simple Ok to load it ?

Just looked on my list of Apps and neither shown, though its a newish reinstall of W10 from the other month.

Best to uninstall both, you can always reinstall it if nothing else views the page or video you try to look at, though just be aware of its potential danger.

A good program for viewing things is popular free VLC media player.

I've got VLC player but not sure it is that great, I think I also have a windows player which pops up from time to time.
As you say Flash player seemed more to do with certain websites or Ads wanting to use it.
