Hi everyone, I'm after planting suggestions for a walled border that we're going to create from this sorry pile of earth and stone! It's part of our front wall and will be at the entrance of the drive. We're also going to rebuild the wall behind. It will be a circular border made of stone and will be about 130cm x 70cm. I'd love suggestions of a couple of smallish everygreen shrubs, perhaps with colourful foliage or flowers, and some other plants to make it an attractive border. Thanks

Hi NessaJ70, That sounds like an exciting project! I see you're in Somerset, so probably not limited by very cold winters? What is your soil like? Do you know whether it's acid or alkaline, as that will have a big effect on choice of plants.

Thanks Noisette, this has been on the long list of things to do but now we have the time! It doesn't get too cold here but does get pretty wet. We'll import a load of soil/compost into the border so it we hopefully won't be limited on plant choice.
