ADVICE PLEASE (WET SOIL)

My garden is very wet, what trees would be best to plant to help rid of this problem and what veggies do best in these conditions??
Any advice gratefully received. :confused:

It might be neccessary to grow veg in raised beds to obtain sufficient drainage. I have the opposite problem! :( See also Mrs Cloudy & PeterS comments for improving soil structure under "Help me to Plan a Border" posted by Helly.

 

The questions to ask are not only what trees will do best in wet conditions, but what do you want the trees to do (e.g. shade, to screen unsightly view or provide backgrop) and how close is the area to buildings, fences, neighbours etc.? How big is the area?

Which way does the plot face (i.e. N,S, E or W)?

Do you want to grow vegetables close to the trees and would they then be shaded from sunlight?
