    Hi all

My partner has been looking this morning and has come across a bird feeder that ticks all the boxes (squirrel and big bird proof), but not the affordability box at £50!!! Has anyone had any success with cheaper bird feeders? It needs to woodpecker friendly though.

    Many thanks

I found the Brome squirrel buster mini really good, there's a spring inside and the weight of the heavier birds pulls the cover down, I couldn't be sure about woodpeckers though.

Another I can recommend is the clingers only feeder, it's great for the likes of goldfinches, sparrows and the tit family but is only squirrel proof if hung where squirrels can't reach it.
