Anyone know how I can attempt to brew ale at home please?

I love Guinness, so like strong stouts by nature. Also the UK has the best ales in the world so we don't need to look far for good ingredients to brew with hopefully?

      Sorry Derbyshire, missed this one.

Mashing and sparging is a bit of a pain, especially for a beginner.

Far easier to brew from a tinned malt kit.

You can get all sorts, including Guinness type kits, and they're dead easy to brew.

You'd need a soft water to make a reasonable Guinness though :)
