    Hi

I bought one of the above as a baby about two years ago.

I gather that they prefer about 70% shade and good well drained soil. All of which i have provided.

Trouble is, it only has one leaf plus stalk - and nothing more seems to be coming. It has been like this since last year ( same leaf!)

I am keeping it in a large pot which I submerge in the border and bring it in in the winter, keeping it relatively dry - I have repotted and refreshed the compost this year...and will continue to feed it.

Is there anything more I can do to kick start this little beastie into growth?

    Thanks!

Apart from a weekly feed (nitrogen with some magnesium) I don't think you can do anything else for it but hope it puts out more growth.:)

I've got one doing, not much, in my greenhouse.
It actually looked a lot better all winter, dry, and in the garage.

I think it needs a bit of sustained heat to get things moving, so its jusy moist in full sun.

Last year it was not massive but respectible.

Thanks for the advice - and Pete, your dog looks lovely! - and the alocasia too of course!

I did repot it about a month ago and gave it a good feed. I will try magnesium and nitrogen though and see if that helps.

    Thanks!
