Ha, ha, up to date so pics from yesterday. The trunk in this pic is of my Melaleuca (Tea Tree) which I bought as a small pot plant. The cats love to climb and scratch on the trunk. At the base is a cluster of new growth which we will keep.

          Mekaleuca 17 Mar 21.jpg

I had a brainstorm to cancel the idea of a permanent Alpendre (porch covering) and build something onto the awning fixings which is permanently attached to the house made with trellis and cane ... so T'other Half had a little job on his hands. He still has some snagging to do but we are delighted with it.

 Well remembered Pete ... this pic was taken in 2007 when I bought it ...

            Cycad.JPG

It now actually has a little trunk on it ... we just love it. I'll try to get a good photo of it now the dreaded huge S nicholai is gone.

That's the Iochroma up and over the Alpendre after it's cut back.

In our friend John's Algarve garden, the Strelitzia nicholai I gave him ... he used a JCB to dig the hole yesterday ...

              Nicholai at Jphn's Nar 21.jpg

I also gave him my giant Kalanchoe thrysiflora "Red Lips" and Bougainvillea "Torch Glow" which he has yet to plant.

The plant in the terracotta pot (without a base) is a self-seeded Myoporum acuminatum from the large one we have at the bottom of the garden. We plan to keep this one as hedge height.

The two previous was from March. Sat out yesterday and got a few pics in April ...

Melaleuca forming a hedge at the base of the trunk which grows a mile a minute so which we will keep trimmed ...

Forgot to put up this nice Front of House Patio which we call The Sandbar because it faces the Cats' Sand Garden between the Myrtus "Tarantina" to the right and the Viburnum. Iochroma clambering up and over the Alpendre. The Alpendre is built with trellis and cane on the frame of the shade awning which is permanently fixed in the wall. This is where we sit for our evening drinks and I start seeds off on the table!

I have a passion for different/uniquely shaped pots. I just last week put a glazed one in the "line up" which I have had indoors but purchased some 35 years ago. Will get a photo of it. I think it is a love both you and I share.

Thank you Kind Sir! I was called Lady of Leisure when I joined GC back in 2006 ... until I was told what LoL was an abbreviation of hence me reverting to my name. Occasionally I put a photo up with LoL on it. :heehee:

Your garden is lovely and also interesting @Victoria, I have missed out on this thread until now.
I enjoyed seeing your rainy day, I love rain (that's why I like living here) but I also like warm sunshine.
Your seating areas look nice and snug

I was ages before finding out what lol meant. I used to think it meant lots of love :heehee: but I am hopeless with 21st century talk. I'll never get used to it !
