I took a cutting from something that was growing through my mums fence..as you do
I`m sure its as common as muck but the missus thought it was quite a nice looking plant/bush/shrub or whatever it is
I`m sure it produced something which looked similar to fluffy downy feathers in the nodes too...very strange.

    Thanks all,
Its good to know what its called and how big its likely to get. I didn`t see the whole plant as theres a 6ft lapboard fence and one branch had squeezed through.
I`m really glad its not a privet Aaron, it wouldn`t have been worth the effort to root it

I think thats the kiddie, strongy,
If i remember correctly the leaves did begin with a striking yellow on the leaf edges too.
I rooted it over winter so it didn`t get much in the way of light and it lost the edge pattern in favour of the central stripes.
Hopefully it`ll revert back now we have a bit of sun

It does revert badly, I grow about 30/40 a year for the Parks, the cuttings come from my mum's garden as she has one 6ft high and regularly wants it cut back, unfortunately a lot of it is green so I take the variegated bits.:D
Should get quite a lot of growth this year Hex.
