ok, coming back to the subject of the wine...it is a white wine which is called:
"liebfraumilch rheinhessen" and apparently it is not discontinued (in the local tesco) as I seemed to remember.
And to confuse you yet some more, there are two types with the same name and a different label, one of which is a touch better than the other.
But which one, will be revealed in the next episode...

    I agree with walnut [IMG]

The New World red wines. Chilean, Argentinian and from the Antipodean countries are all excellent and value for money. Even South African wines are very good.

Obviously I'm now prejudiced and my favourite here is Adega de Pegoes from the Terra do Sado region here. It's a "soft" red. We do pay the horrendous sum of between 1,42 - 1,95 Euros a bottle but the same in the UK is nearer a tenner ... in Sterling of course. [IMG] I'm obviously buying a "lesser" quality from a cooperative.

I find the Co-op's habit of making half-price offers a great one - you get to try wines that cost a lot more than I would normally spend. Trouble is I never remember what the names of the best ones are..... still, so long as they keep doing this, I'll get nice wines at a decent price anyway! :D

Yes. I know how you feel Dendrobium. You drink a couple of bottles of wine and you forget what it's called. Actually I forget whether it's red or white (or blue come to think of it). I have the same problem with orchids, after a couple of bottles of wine. [IMG]

    John, and everybody,

I used to make my own wine, and when it was due for racking which entailed putting a pipe into the demijohns and siphoning off the good stuff and getting rid of the sediment, on that night i was regularly good for nuffin, sloshed as a board on a ship :D
