i feel for you Kyle, it must be a nightmare...not to mention infuriating!

we have a noisy neighbour, the bloke who lives up the back from us does have parties all the time that go on late into the night, its not too bad for us cos be's not right beside us but never mind the music he himself is an incredibly loud person! you can hear him talking clearly from our house...when he's in his house! & he has one of those oxygen machine things (that he uses whilst smoking btw!) & every so often he let out a weird sneezing roar sorta sound!! :gaah: very strange man...im starting to think he might actually be half man, half fog horn :rofllol:

      Infuriating is the main word.

I know I could drag them out of their house and onto the street, but I'd end up in trouble with the law, so our hands are tied.

They don't have a UK tax disc on their car but they've been here 8 months now.. which is illegal after 6 months if they're staying longer?

Well if no-one is listening or doing anything then perhaps a few chaps could be bought a few drinks one evening? They may accidentally find themselves in your neighbourhood afterwards and mistake the neighbours house for their own? On reflection, as appealing as it may be, it's not a great idea.
Keep pestering police and enviro health until they do something, even if it's contacting them every day

I thought that. Maybe email them every time they play their music, it's what I do to the landlord.

Normally it goes like this '00:21 - Loud music from front bedroom'

But he never replies or acknowledges it.

If I remember correctly, I watched a TV program the other week about problem neighbours, am sure it was Domonic Littlewood one morning. Anyway, nuisance neighbours were evicted for much the same problems as you are having, it also said that Landlords ( both Private and Local Authority ) now have to adhere to legislation that can make them responsible for the actions of their tenants. There should be someone at your council that is responsible for making sure these laws are implemented.

I would pay a visit to your local CAB, they will have all the right names of people to contact.

Noise problems are usually dealt with by the Environment Agency, have you tried that avenue?

I wonder if an individual, with evidence, could take out an ASBO at the magistrates court (unless someone knows, I will ask the wife to ask A Bench Legal Adviser at work, she works at the Magistrates Courts ;) )

You could also tip off Immigration anonymously, saying you suspect they may be illegal, at least that would get some sort of enforcement action going ;)

I would advise against any more 'Personal' visits, just to keep your slate clean.

Other than that all I can offer are words of comfort, never been in this situation, but I can feel your pain.

        Best of luck.

          Thanks a lot!

I'd love to hear the views of your Wife's colleague!

And I'm not stupid enough to go round and attack them, even though I feel like I want to most of the time I'm here.

I've typed out Feb-May's nuisance noise days, it's about 60 days.. I bet they think I'm making it up.

In February they had a BBQ in their backgarden and ended up staying out there drinking for most of the night. Also burnt pallets in their garden, which upset a few other neighbours as it was very smokey.

I will be sure and get her to ask.

Keep that diary going, and if you can find any supportive neighbours get them to sign as witnesses, better still try and persuade them to report / complain themselves, the more evidence you have, the more compelling the case.

I know you would not get physical if you visited, but they could say that you either did or 'threatened 'to. Remember, keep YOUR slate clean.

I am sure you have the support of all here on GC.

Don't let the <insert expletive> get you down ! :blue thumb:

            Thanks :blue thumb:

Know what the sad thing is? The woman who lives on the other side of nuisance house works for Salford council.. so what hope do I have in getting them to do something?

She might not work in the right department or even know which department it should be dealt with, but I would try and garner her support and note in any communication that you include her in that she is a council employee.... Cannot hurt.

We've been there...had appalling neighbours in the UK. Loud, foul-mouthed parents and five equally appalling daughters. When it got beyond the pale, I kept a detailed record of the noise nuisance and went to the Council. They lent out recording equipment for a fortnight, which was used to establish the level of nuisance along with a detailed diary. I don't know whether Councils react in the same way for rented and owned properties, but think you should lean a bit harder on your Council. There are laws in place to stop this sort of situation and it's the Council's job to enforce them!

You jest, HB, but what with the neighbours from hell and the field behind our house sprouting 300 new houses, that's exactly why we did!

Let's keep our fingers crossed for Kyle and his parents. If other neighbours have been upset too, so much the better!

Thanks for all your help people.

I found the landlord's address tonight, googled his house and it's a detached house, which he apparently bought for £250,000 a few years ago..
