    I'd just like to thank

All the students who had their big parties at Uni and then complained when they got sick.

Everybody who was so self entitled they went abroad on a foreign holiday and didnt feel the need to self isolate on return. Hope they had a fabulous time.

All the people predominantly up North who appeared in photos on the news reguarly having mass gatherings around pubs. Bravo Andy Burnham!

All the people in shops without wearing masks because they're not comfortable to wear. Boo Hoo.

To the authorities and shop managers who made zero effort to enforce the rules.

Thank you to the government for your monumental inadequacy.

We need to get a proper Track and Trace in place.

The country is likely to now go broke or perhaps we'll all be dead and it won't matter anymore

    Yours
    Mrs Angry.

I think you will find the majority of people recover, its only the media and government who keep banging on about death.
You are more likely to know how many people died today, than how many recovered or didn't even know they had it.

Whilst that’s true (and I agree), it’s (to me) the potential death toll that we should be concerned with. Can you imagine a situation whereby you (for instance) turn up at a hospital needing treatment (for whatever) and being told to go away because ‘we’re full up’?

Well, I'm just wondering where all those nightingale hospitals have gone that they spent millions on and got all kinds of companies banging out equipment for.

The truth probably was again, a bit of a publicity thing.
Because where the hell were all the staff going to come from, which is probably why they never really made any effective use of them.
They were there for the worst case scenario.

I've read that 45% of the death toll earlier in the year was from care homes, and why?
Because the government panicked and put known covid cases back into care homes that had no real means of isolation or PPE.
That was to free up hospital spaces for people that stood a chance of recovery.
The care home people were written off.

            That is going on already.
Cancer treatment has stopped for many, along with referrals.

Nightingale hospitals? Have they gone? Would you expect them to prepare for anything less than a worse case scenario? Can you imagine the uproar if they didn’t?

Each year, for the last few years, I’ve had to go for an annual check for cancer, but I have to accept that it might not be carried out any time soon.

Well I hope that you are ok Freddy.:blue thumb:
But I'm actually referring to people whose cancer treatment has been stopped, or not diagnosed.
And some have surely died .

The Nightingale hospitals were an emergency standby. At the same time we were asapting venues such as the Excell in East London. The Chinese had built a 59 floor hospital, all fully equipped.
Typically UK governments, rather than building up our NHS denied finances and let it fall into a disrepair state. Medical staff. We have one, if not the best medical service in the world. Several years ago, many doctors, consultants and other specialists, upsticks and went to the US & Canada, where they are treated better. Medical practitioners are specialist individuals. Caring for others is a deep seated heartfelt condition with them. Even at that early stage, governments stoodby and watched the brain drain.

I supose private medical staff could be roped in, also the military medical services.

Like Freddy. I am also subjected to periodic cancer checkups. I recently underwent my pr-op assessment and should have been in and out by now.

I was originally under the care of the QE11 hospital at Woolwich. Having undergone 5 or 6 ops since 2014. I was overlooked. Daughter Amanda who has my consent to act on my behalf, contacted the department. My consultant there hit the roof. He has in the past taken the hospital to court and won for their negligence. A full enquiry was carried out. I hope this won't be repeated at Guys.

                  All the best Freddy.

As far as I know, some of them were ‘mothballed’, which is what I would expect.

I dont think they hardly ever came out of mothballs, at the very same time as they were sending positive cases straight back in nursing homes.

Maybe there's too many whispers around.:dunno: All the Nightingale Hospitals were placed on standby and just maintained to keep them ticking over. They might be used to take the pressure off the NHS so that it can carry on treating other conditions. in fact that was the original idea, not to let the Hospitals get full with COVID 19 patients and take the overflow as an emergency.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Sending back folks to care homes with positive tests is clearly a failing, I’m sure no one would deny that. Regarding the nightingale hospitals, the fact that they were underused is surely a good thing, isn’t it? If they weren’t put in place and things got worse, again, can you imagine the uproar?
