Hi everyone. We've been gardening (in a fashion) for some time, but 4 years ago we moved to our present house, the garden of which could only be described as a cross between a wildlife reserve, jungle and a builder's yard - it seemed like such a good idea at the time too! Several skips (and trips to the osteopath) later, we finally have something resembling a garden. It's the first year we've actually been able to grow anything - and discover how much (or should that be 'little') we really know so please .. be gentle with us! :thku:

Many thanks for all the lovely welcome messages. I had soooo many questions but, having spent the morning pulling 6 bin-bags worth of (neighbour's) ivy off our side of the fence, have collapsed onto the sofa and spent an extremely pleasurable couple of hours just browsing and finding innumerable answers (even to questions I hadn't thought to ask!). A little light 'deadheading' is now called for m'thinks.
