Interested to see if anybody has acquired any bad or unusual (or boring good) habits in lockdown?
The first one (bad) that springs to my mind for me is I discovered the G+T.
Never drunk gin in my life as Ive always been a vodka, cider and prosecco drinker (not all in one glass and not very often!!)
I seem to have got into the habit of a cheeky G+T while in the process of preparing my evening meal. Decided this was bad form so have started to have just the tonic water with a wedge of lime in a cocktaill glass trying to psychologically fool myself.....have to confess the jury is still out on that

Alcohol consumption is definitely my issue. I have cut it back in lock down 3 and am not drinking before 4pm. Lock down 1 got silly and I was drinking at midday some days :rolleyespink::nonofinger: . Its a bit easier this time as my best mates house runs at the bottom of my garden so we lowered the fence and turned it into our little haven, we have called it 'the everyone is staying inn'. In the summer when were furloughed we were still out there at 3 am a few nights. I am working from home 3 days and he is working full time, so the temptation and the weather have helped a little.

        1) Buying too much stuff at full price.

        2) Drinking too much coffee

        3) Burning too much firewood

        4) Wearing out too many pairs of slippers

Sitting in my front room in front of the stove, I've noticed just how much the sound of boxes of empty bottles being tipped into recycling bins (on top of other bottles) has increased to levels not heard since Lockdown 1.

Lockdowns haven't really affected me to much but for social , but this lockdown I am out of season for work so I've been doing diy / decorating which something I don't normally do. Not a bad habit and boring subject but I've been using Vinyl wrap and i am getting quite good at it now, I've started wrapping everything I can in that room, surprised the difference it makes I have just started doing a bedside table .

I keep buying things out of boredom or at least looking .

Well Ebay, Amazon, Screwfix have had a bumper time from me over the last 9 months.
We both like a drink so in the good weather, there was Harry's Bar and Grill in the garden - noted for it's beers and wines. Some evenings the grill served chicken skewers, burgers and best Cumberland sausages, with Molly always getting the first sausage :wagtail:
As the weather closed in we now have Jans Gin Bar (MrsH) in the upstairs office, Saturdays and Sundays - entertainment by YouTube :dbgrtmb:

Sometimes bad habits are the best especially at the moment. Enjoy life to the full, too many dying of Covid.

@ThePlantAssassin I used to enjoy a G&T. But only Tanqueray gin. Went on a diet one time and skipped the gin and drank large amounts of tonic until I discovered it has almost as many calories as Coca-cola! No wonder I wasn't losing any weight :doh:I now sip on red wine spritzers and only after 4 p.m. and not into the wee hours. Occasionally I'll have a beer but those are quite fattening and go down too easily.

I picked up that bad habit of nibbling when I get bored. I feel like a dog sometimes -roaming around the house looking for something to eat.. I did curtail that a bit and lost the extra Covid pounds but I have noticed that I'm sliding back a bit.

@Perki you got me to sit up! Vinyl wrap. Are you talking about the opaque stuff that is applied to kitchen cabinetry and things like that? Sounds interesting :)

We have decorated all rooms and that has helped keep us out of mischief, I think.:heehee:

@CanadianLori yes that the stuff can be applied to lots of things but normally used on kitchen cabinets / other units and cars. I've been working on a in built wardrobe for the past few weeks, the door are old plywood door very likely older than me. Only thing you've got to watch out for is that the surface has to be very smooth, my first attempt I used a black gloss vinyl and the light bounced off showing all the imperfections, I ripped it off and applied this dark walnut finish instead which looks so much better. Have used the black gloss vinyl wrap on some mdf drawer inside the wardrobe which has come out well.

Yes just peel off the back paper and stick it on. You do have to work it on pushing air bubbles out while applying it, best to be done slowly
