    Looks like a very young ferrocactus.
    Possibly F. emoryi..
    If it is, it could look something like this in about 35yrs,:biggrin:

    Hi Pete,

    Could it be a Myrtillocactus Geometrizans, as to me it seems to be growing into a more columnar ribbed plant.

    Just a suggestion:)

      You could be right Anthony young plants,I find are very difficult to ID.

      I was going by the central reddish hooked spine.
      And was assuming the columnar effect was being caused by poor light.:scratch::smile:

        It has the same texture skin as Anthony's suggestion but the hooked spines are a definite feature

        Agree, looks like a young Ferocactus.
        Hard to identify at this stage.
