In a south-facing back bed I have all these leaves (inherited from the previous owner) which have appeared every summer for the past twenty years. Then in the autumn, they disappear and I get a fine bed of nerines, also inherited. Are the two linked? That is, are these leaves what appear from bulbs before dying off and then pushing up nerine flowers? Or are these leaves something totally separate and just can't produce flowers because the nerines take over?
