I bought a bare root tree over winter and suspected it was, in fact, a dead bare root tree... which it was. Lesson: don't buy from Garden Bargains.

That aside, I also planted a kernel from a supermarket apricot which is now a fledgling tree and I was wondering how hardy they actually are? Should I plant it out, in a pot or scrap the idea as the kernel won;t produce a productive tree at all?!

Dunno about Apricots but my peach tree has survived the worst our winters throw at it.
