I planted several of each species a year and both performed well.

Both look like I should have cut them back.
Can anyone advise if I chould do so now? ....and if so, how far should I take them back?

Should they normally be cut back at the start of winter??

Crocosmia are corms so you need to take off the dead leaves.I've already done mine as they're starting to sprout already.I've never grown artemesia myself but I think I read that you shouldn't cut into old wood.Hope this helps.
