In our neighbours garden is a huge Ash tree just inside the dividing fence which covers our garden too. I don't mind it as its a lovely looking tree but what i do mind are the mini trees that are shooting up in our gardens borders, I'm assuming these are coming from the roots? Is there a way to suppress these or is it just a case of cutting them down? They range from 10inches up to about 4ft.

If you have any hedges or shrubs, keep an eye underneath them, because ash tree seedlings lurk underneath building up their strength, then make a sudden bolt for freedom and you'll wonder where on earth that great big ash came from all of a sudden.
