I have observed for a while now, some great tits in our street. They sit quite high up, but are really annoying early in the morning. I wake up early to the sound of a squeaky bed spring.
Well, that's what it sounds like to me. About 4 or 5 squeaks, a pause, then a repeat.....over and over again.
I think I have identified them correctly.
@Gdnam do you have any in your street too?
I think I had a robin in the back garden earlier. Is that possible?

I have found a youtube clip. Beware though, I think they are being rude in the comments section.
They are very loud though, for a small bird! Ahhh, you can't see the comments :)

I still don't sleep particularly well, despite medication, so can quite often awake to the dawn chorus - I must admit that there is something nice about waking up to hear all the different birds chattering away with each other (even our 'cruck' that has returned for a second year - I think its a crow that sounds like it is a cross between a crow and a duck )

Yes, the dawn chorus is fine :), but this thing is loud ,hence people swearing in the comments on the website. I was expecting the link to take you to the site, not embed.
Never heard of a cruck. Are robins still about?

He might not be a cruck, he might be durow :dunno: :snork: - strange sounding bird whatever he is. Robins seem to be getting fewer in number, although the weather wasn't all that cold last winter - - where do robins go in the warmer weather?

These sit up 'very' high in an old protected oak (I think it's that anyway). I don't envy those who have the oak in their garden or near their bedrooms. It's bad enough 20/30 yards away
